Calling All Code Hackers/ Help Required
Hi Guys,
NEED YOUR HELP! I have been playing around with a definition file for our 1999 Aussie Holden VT V8 Auto $A6 (last of the true Aussie V8 bangers before Holden went to the LS1). I have been using Tuner Pro as I have found it is very powerfull for this sort of thing. http://www.supportfitness.com/mark/t...ownloadApp.htm As I have Cats OBD1 TDF editor, the plan is to build a TDF definition. Our Holdens did'nt go OBD2 untill the year 2000 with the intro of the LS1. The attached .bin @ 128kb is set on a 27c010 memcal using 8192 buad OBD1. (don't think USA has seen this memcal as you guys went OBD2 in 96, which was flash eeprom, maybe in the LT1 $EE definition) I only have so much brain power and require help. Team ZR-1, many moons ago I sent you a incomplete .bin file. Sorry about that. I have also attached a XDF that I have been playing with, for you all to have a look at. I have had trouble with disassembling the 128 kb bin file, so if any one could shed some light here I would be greatfull. I personally think that the collective minds of many is a very powerfull tool. Thats why I never hold back. Would love to nut this out and test real time with the ostrich @ 1mb.. cheers mick Last edited by AussieLS1evil; 03-19-2006 at 01:27 AM. |

Which processor does this PCM use?
As far as disassemblers go I would recommend using IDA-Pro (Advanced) if you really want to understand the code/data. It is interactive meaning it is not totally point and click and you have a completely disassembled bin file. It tries to autoanalyze the file making a few passes trying to determine what is code and data. Once the autoanalysis is complete you go manually through the file marking code and data sections along with labeling what the sections are (like PID code, etc...) so that you can finally start making some sense of the file. The power is also in the scripts you can build to automate the disassembly process. BTW, Check to see if the processor you are wanting to disassemble is supported otherwise it will be useless. The URL to IDA is below: http://www.datarescue.com/idabase/index.htm James |
