Reading a Herter tune

Anybody know why when you read a Herter tune, the cylinder volume reads zero, and the injector flow reads in the hundreds? I'm assuming it's to keep novices from re-tuning themselves. I've read three of his tunes and they are all the same.

nah. this is bc you are reading an early 94 "rev b" binary using the $ee code mask. these had slightly different data location structure and require $ee_b code mask, they will then read correctly. open obd1 tuner > ECM > PCM_EEB and then open the file.

i don't think it's necessarily anything done delibrately to prevent people from messing with the cal, you just happened to read some 94 tunes. 95 lt1 tunes are all $ee. if he really wanted to create obstructions to customers playing with his tunes, i am sure he could and would have done more.
