EGR not working as I expect?
I am wondering if there is some missing settings on the $EE for EGR.
Watching EGR on my LT1 it doesn't stay on all the time within the few EGR parameters that I can edit. MAP and rpm are within range that it was before.
It almost seems there is a timer, or decay delay or something. I would blip the gas while driving, and EGR instantly goes off, yet still within the parameters I can adjust. And it would take some time to come back on, and sometimes, not at all.
For instance, I am cruising at 1900 rpm, EGR is working, on cruise control. All ok, I will get off cruise, move through traffic, and get back on cruise, and EGR won't come back on for a while, anywhere from 5-30 seconds, sometimes longer.
I suspect that there must be a disable EGR MAP to match the enable EGR MAP.
My expectation (warning!) is there should be a enable MAP, disable MAP, enable rpm, disable rpm, and enable temp and disable temp. And possibly a delay (not sure why, but it acts like it is there). And EGR should NEVER be enabled in open loop. But I ran into an issue recently where I restored my EGR values to stock B/D car values and it started EGR at cold start anything off idle. Pain in the butt.... I previously was using Corvette EGR which enables EGR after 59C, and the B/D enables EGR at 32C. Well, it is around 32C out so I get EGR with a cold startup. And with E85, that causes some nasty bucking and backfiring....
