RR/TC 96 .cal issues

Has anyone run into trouble opening 96 .cal files with Roadrunner/TC set up? I can open any other year files. I got some help from Craig but don't want to be a PITA.

Did you put a RR in your 96?

I have a 97 and I just finished my 12200411 PCM swap. I can now install a RR and am just waiting on some more spare $$. That unit is pricey, but looks to be a fun tool (and very useful!). Hey if I was Craig I'd charge double.

I'm running on a 2001-2002 van tune and if I roadrunner I expect to use a 2001-2002 van tune for a 5.7L. I'm confused when you say RoadRunner/TC 96 .cal files. Please elaborate.

I had the first TC II available with an original 96-97 definition file. I could not do certain things until I got an updated .vdf from tc@tunercat.com . They sent me a large update and I've been set since.

I also have EFI Live and will be hopefully getting that RR soon. Really interested in this.

Roadrunner

I would check to see if there is a update to the definition file you are using. Which VDF would that be?

What driver are you using with your RoadRunner?

I have a little trouble with getting RoadRunner working with TC because of conflicting software and the driver install.

I found a FTDI utility that will allow me to uninstall pre existing drivers and select a new type of driver for the Roadrunner so I can fire it up on TC.

Any chance you could post your .cal file and a link to the driver you are using. I would like to have a look at whats going on.

Cheers

Mick

with the roadrunner version of Tunercat you make all your changes in the roadrunner software. I wish there was a roadrunner for the 94-96's. I'll try TC for an updated VDF file.

I'll get that info to you.
