Flash error with Jetflash

Hey guys.

Been on the board reading for quite a while never really felt the need to post since most information here was pretty complete.

I flashed my 96 Impala lt1 today for the nTh time lol and lost all power to my laptop during the flash(yikes). Rebooted and started over but no communication with pcm. the car starts but dies. MIL light is flickering. Fans stay on. Looks like PCM is a goner. Any suggestions on what I may try next?

Thanks all.

Welcome!!

Yup, there is no recovery mode in these type (they have dual flash IC's) and the parts must be removed and reprogrammed and then soldered back down to make it functional again.

check car-part.com and pick up another one, usually by far the cheapest route to go.

Thanks for the reply. I borrowed my buddys tech 2 and that would not read it either. I checked prices reman is about same price as the used ones and they give a warranty. Going to pick one up later tonight.
Thanks again.

car-part.com, they are relatively cheap. Going to buy one from a "store" of any sort is going to hurt the pocketbook more. Warranty? Why bother, buy 2 PCM's and keep some stock on hand. They honestly very very rarely ever fail.
