PCM/OS Compatibility Database: Flashing PCMs with different year cals...

I would like to start/build a database on here of what can be done with GM PCMs concerning what different year cals can be flashed to them and still have them work.

Example: I have been told you can put a 2003 GTP L67 cal (from a 12583826 PCM) onto a 2002 PCM (12209624) and it works fine (but some ODM DTC's may need to be disabled to prevent false DTCs from setting due to slightly incompatible hardware).

I would like to start a PCM/OS compatibility list on here for both cars and trucks so we can get a database going for doing stuff like this. The goal is to help save some money/trouble trying to track down a specific year/service number PCM when other units may work in the application.

So who has done what?

I've personally flashed a 99-2000 09361735 L67 PCM with 98-99 16236757 L67 programming and had no issues.

the example you gave should work with no problems. Alldata lists
the 12209624 as the replacment pcm.
anywhere the 411 works the 9354896 will work. i have heard a
512kb cal will run on a 1mb roadrunner and would like to know if this is true.
the blue\red pcms interchange i have been wondering if the blue\green
1mb pcms do too? the 6cyls use alot of differnt sevice numbers with
blue\clear.
if the connectors are keyed alike (same colors) i am thinking it might work.
i am in the market for a 1mg pcm for cheap i have got quite abit of simple
work where i load a bin from the vin number make changes and just swap
pcms.

For the V6 Cars The Delphi P04 Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was used from 1998 to 2005. Not all V6's are P04's

Today I tested using a 2004-05 12583827 V6 PCM in place of a 2003 12583826 V6 PCM. Uploaded the 03 programming to the 04-05 box and it seemed to work fine. But I did get an MIL DTC (P0650) even though the check engine light still works fine, so I had to disable that code. But other than that, the car seems to run and drive fine. NOTE: This is in an engine swap application so I cannot verify there won't be any other issues with ODM DTC's or BCM/IPC communications in factory vehicles if you do this.
