This is only when the bypass valve would open, it would release the air to atmosphere to release the pressure. Like a blow off valve. This would cause the MAF not to read any airflow because it is after the bypass valve and before the throttle body.

Right now we have the MAF on the intake side of the charger and it maybe located to close to it.

You don't want the MAF reading airflow that is going to end up going out the bypass valve. The MAF should ALWAYS be mounted AFTER the bypass valve device; UNLESS you had the bypass plumbed back into the inlet side of the charger.

yes the maf would always be after the bypass valve.
