Programming ?

I have been programming my car for months now.. All of a sudden tonight when I send a tune it will say unlocking PCM then switching to high speed communications then when it flips to the next screen programming the fans turn on and it aborts with an error. Anybody have any ideas what I should do?

Try pulling back on the data block size.

Check over all your com port settings, sometimes other recently installed hardware can effect settings on your common port.

Cheers

pull the fuses or relay's to the fans. Kill power to the intrument cluster.

Just a process of elimination really.

Have you updated your software lately?

Maybe roll back and see how that goes, or check to see if there are updates and go forward.

Try a bench read and wright, that will eliminate all other influences on the bus.

Reinstall the software.

Strange how things can change for no apparent reason.

Interesting to see what your fix will be?

It has happened to me a couple of times for no reason and not just with TC software. Some software Vendors get cheeky sometimes and include glitches for there opposition so you can't have different tuning software installed at the same time on the one platform. Have not seen this happen for some time now though. That's life in the fast lane...

Cheers

Mick

These early model PCM's are a little temperamental at times.

In most cases when people have issues with them they pull the power and go for a PCM reset.

Unplug everything. Hook it back up. Clear the DTC and try to read again. for some reason it works for me. I even check vehicle info before I read just to make sure its working okay.
