Hey everyone, my name is Paul and I am from Canada. I currently am involved in installing a Mercruiser marine intake manifold on my 1997 rcsb Vortec 350 truck. It has run a 14.8@94mph with a 2.007 60ft. I drive it everyday, she weighs 4000lbs. I am new to tuning, I will need MXScan to use with Tunercat. I hear that MXScan will be the scanner to have.

Good luck John on the new product.
Hog

Hi. Newbie here with a 2002 S10 4.3/4L60E. I have a Wynjammer supercharger at 6psi with a custom tune from F.A.S.T. I am in the process of getting an intake manifold with interchangeable rail-type injectors to replace my inadequate stock CPI. I would like to raise boost to around 10-12psi after I get a built block. Will I be able to modify or write my own maps for this setup with a TunerCat? What is the difference between TunerCat and MXScan? Also, with my current tuning I tend to get DTC's indicating left/right banks running rich while cruising. I was also told that I am running lean for a boosted engine after posting my A/F graph on another site. At the richest I was in the 13.XX. I can try to post my A/F graph here if necessary. Can I modify the F.A.S.T. tune with TunerCat or will I have to return it to stock and write my own?

From My under standing If/when MX Scan shows up it will be a compatable partner to TC. It will use the same cable and have provisions for Wide band.

I can not wait till it gets here!

As far as the other questions. Unless you tune is locked (A furtal attempt to keep people like us out) yes you will be able to modify your calibration accordingly

Hi, i'm Vic from Germany! we don't have many US cars&trucks here in europe, but it seems i'm giving my best to change this I'm an IT technician, but work at a shop sepcialized for US cars & boats.

My first own project i just finished, is a TPI swap on my 91 Caprice, the next will be a LS1 powertrain into a 79 Trans Am, and this is why i definitely will need something to scan with the Tunercat hardware My first steps with OBD-II tuning i will do within the next days on a 97 Tahoe (got the OBD-II Tuner today).

So, who's the one i have to stand a beer to become a beta-tester or something like that?

Greetings, all!

This looks like just what I've been looking for.
I own a couple of Fieros. One of them has an increasingly modded 3.4 Camaro motor which I am still messing with.
I also own a 2001 4.3 Sonoma. It's just about as box-stock as you can get, other than a cold air system and a Flowmaster, but I hope to remove some of the "compromises" that GM programmed in, as well.

I've got TunerCat for OBD1 and (most recently) OBD2. Wanted to do some research, so that I can break stuff with conviction!

Cheers!

Hello everyone newbie JET tuner here.

New to the tuner world and learning. Purchashed a JET DST #14005 tuner/flasher. My truck is a Chev 1998 CK1500 4.3 Vortec 5-speed.

I want to retune my truck back to its normal screeming self after the GM dealership screwed it up with a "new" PSD update for my ECM. Can't go back and they wont do a previous flash to fix it. Truck is severly de-tuned now. Used to smoke the tires in first three gears, now i have terrible gas milage and terrible throttle response and pull. Seems like im driving my girls little 4 banger with no power or pull.

Future plans include a CFM technologies 75 MM throttle body which i already have, Edelbrock dual plane intake, headers, and Comp Cams cam with double roller timing chain.
Taking it slow and doing plenty of reading. Just bought "Computerized Engine Controlls 7th edition" book and will absorb that when it comes in the mail.

I've already gotten the software installed and working and made some basic changes i knew would work and where they should be. Truck is 30 percent better now and is fun to drive again. i know theres alot more on the table this lil engine can do once i figure out how to properly setup the VE and ign advance tables. Only when truck is running perfect will i start putting on the bolt-ons and beef up the tables to match them. Here to learn more from the big dogs.

Welcome to the forum!

You will find many knowledgeable tuners/users who participate on the forum. It sounds like you are going down the right path getting the books that give you insight into what to change and how it can affect your engine. The JET package is relatively new so the .JCL files are not as plentiful but over time we should start to see more baseline and modified calibrations available.

Regards,
James
