How do you insert screen shots into your posts?

If it is an image on another server you use the [IMG] [/IMG] tag around the image path.

If you want to upload it to the forum just make sure it is a JPG, GIF, PNG, etc... and attach it to the post (via attachments), Once posted you will see a thumbnail view at the bottom of the post that once clicked will expand full size.

I guess my real question is, how do I create a screen shot or uploadable file of a tuner table from my computer? If that makes any sense.

There are a couple of ways to do a screen capture.

You can press the "Print Screen" key and it will capture the entire desktop into the clipboard buffer so then you can press paste (Ctrl + V) into a graphics editing application like "Paint".

If you press "Alt + Print Screen" it will capture the "active" or window that has the focus instead of the full desktop. You can then paste the image into whatever program you wish.

There are also some very good freeware applications that do screen shots and have enhanced capabilities like capturing specific regions of your screen, etc... The one I recommend is made my Faststone Soft.

The link to it is here: http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm

If you are really into getting some enhanced screen capture capabilities like being able to capture the contents of list boxes and capture raw text out of fields you can use a product by TechSmith called SnagIt. It is not freeware however but it to me is one of the best tools. But if all you want is to do a basic capture the "Print Screen" button or the tool above should do fine.

James

No problem, it may also help others who may have the same question as well.
