Custom VDF's or VDF work

Is anyone interested in a Custom VDF or some thing added to a VDF?
For the most part LS1 VDF's, but the V6 cars also.
Maybe even a Duramax or 2

John has laid out some ground work for this to happen.
You must already have the VDF that you want altered.

Unless you create one from the ground up. Then it is yours....

So if someone makes their own, then they own that.

That would be strange.
If I have all of the information in front of me and I have seen it at least one time then I would be copying John's work. On the other hand I have never seen Lyndon's Duramax stuff so it would be mine correct?

BTW I have purchased some VDF's from John.

I have been adding to the VDF's that I purchased and everything looks great I have several programs to look over and make sure that they are correct.

I am looking at 4cyl also.

Thanks to Mick that turned me onto a program or two I can map out the Calibrations in 2D mode

Living in the Milwaukee area in the same area that made the Delco and some Delphi PCM's has helped.

I have learned whom to ask and what to ask for and that is key to any good database.

Hummm

That's fair enough!!

But it's not just the VDF you need to build from scratch.

What I noticed when building your own definitions is that you will need to add labels to the form.lib file in most cases. Also you may need to add informatin to the PCM.dat file as well. These 2 files in there original form are copy protected as well to the original Author. You will need to build these files from scratch as well.

When you do build a definition it will only work with the information you have included in these 2 files. From memory there are no blank templates of these 2 files to start with. You could make a copy of these files, rename them, then delete all the information in them and start again. When building your own VDF's you will need to direct the editor to the new files you have created. If you pass on your VDF you will need to include your own .dat and .lib files as well.

Lyndon this is the way that I have looked at it, unless your self and John would relax on the pcm.dat and form.lib files.

Cheers

Mick

You can build your own, tweak as you wish--you just can't sell them. I'm bound by the same agreement. Although I released a Shelby template before John did, I never told him I'd built one. We've been pretty clear on the diesel stuff--and I did build templates for the 4.2L about 2 years before John released them--but did my reflashing with the Tech2--major pitb. We're contemplating a template release for the Tunercat guys for diesels pretty soon--stay tuned.

I know 4 cyl is untapped... I'm building 1996+ Cadillac, but it won't be a read-write through DST, DDT or TC.
