Hypertech Hyperpaq for sale.
Got this from a friend who bought a truck and didn't want it,traded for some work I did for him.
It's already been married to a truck, and it's not a simple "download the stock tune back into it" like a programmer. It has to be factory reset from hypertech. I've already called them and talked with a tech,it will cost about $250 for the reset. He mentioned it being an older firmware that they more than likely wouldn't be able to upgrade,so it would be a new upgraded unit that returned. These retail for over $700,I would like to get around $200obo for it. Don't really wanna give up the cash to reset it when I can't use it anyway. |

Been playing a bit with this thing, trying to figure out a way to reset it.
The VIN info is saved on a non removable eeprom it looks like and I can't erase it. I've been thinking about it though,if somebody wanted to use it all they would have to do would be to program the vin saved in the hypertech to their pcm. At least I think that will work, next time I get a chance i'm gonna try it out. |

I'll take some this evening.
I'm trying to track down the manufacturer/specs for the eeprom chip, but not getting anywhere. It had a "hypertech" sticker over it,and i've identified most of the other chips as being unrelated to flash memory. I'd like to know if anyone recognizes the icon for the chip maker. I can barely read it,even with my glasses,so i'll try to find some way to magnify it a bit also. I found an adapter in my bin o' adapters that had the correct power plug in but only 9v/300mA. So I spliced it into a 12v/500mA adapter and that allowed the unit to fully power up. It has a USB port,a small USB/type port and two other ports, one of which is used for the OBDII connection to the vehicle. The only cable that seems to come with it is the OBDII cable for connection, and it power's itself directly from the vehicle. |

A hair dryer will warm the glue on the hypertech sticker to remove it safely and you can heat it back up to put it back on. Then you can read what is under it.
I work in the industry, if you can get some high res pictures, I can help a lot. I have lots of supplier reps I can abuse to see what the parts are. Memory suppliers common now: Intel Hynix ST (ST Micro) AMD (Spansion) MSystems (they have a cool "DOC" or Disk on Chip memory, but that won't be used in that) Freescale (formerly Motorola SPS) makes CAN and Class2 bus controllers, as does many other companies. OKI (for Bosch) ELM has some, but I don't think they support Block Flash like we have. Anyone got a AVTcable (838, 841 or 842) that they can take apart and see what IC's are in it? Quote:

![]() ![]() ![]() The one with the sticker over it is the one in the middle here with an odd looking i on it. I can post up the numbers to whichever one's you need. This was on the one with the hypertech sticker. 28f256j3c125 54478366 24472024a and the weird i icon, looks like an "i" with a "l" below it and inline ![]() ![]()
